Installing Qamar Theme
Uploading Qamar via FTP to Wordpress

Download the zipped theme pack to your local computer from themeforest and extract the ZIP file contents to a folder on your local computer.
- In the extracted folder you will find 'Qamar.zip' Extract this file .

Using an FTP client to access your host web server

Upload the Theme files in the extracted folder called 'Qamar' to wp-content/themes directoryprovided by WordPress.

Visit Administration > Appearance > Themes, under the Manage Themes tab, under the Available Themes, if necessary navigate to the page displaying that Theme, then click the Activate link to make the Theme, the Current Theme.
Installing Qamar from the WordPress Dashboard
- Download the zipped theme pack to your local computer from themeforest and extract the ZIP file contents to a folder on your local computer.
- Log into your WordPress admin panel and click on the “Appearance” tab.
- Now click on the "Add New Themes" tab.
- Click on the "Upload" button, "Browse" for file called Qamar.zip In the extracted folder select "Open".
- Click the "Install Now" button.
- Activate the theme from this page, OR "Return to Themes Page" and activate from there
Installing Sample Content
To install the Sample Content

Go Dashboard > Tools > Import > WordPress
- Install the plugin.
- Use it to upload the sample content XML file .

Language Translations
All of our Themes are able to be translated into any language. The process of translating the theme is a user responsibility.
The following instructions are given as guidance.
- Open wp-config.php and replace this:
define ('WPLANG', '');
with this (subsitute the language string (bg_BG) with your own!): define ('WPLANG', 'bg_BG');
- Download and install POEDIT
- Connect to your site -> open your theme/languages directory
- Download the default.po file and open it with POEDIT.
- Translate file and save it as bg_BG (the file name must match with the string you inserted into wp-config.php)
- Two files will be generated after save. bg_BG.po and bg_BG.mo
- Upload the .mo and .po files into wp-content/themes/your-theme/languages folder
Your WordPress installation should be in the language you intend on using the site.
Setting Up Logo

Login to Wordpress Admin

Click Qamar Theme Options
-
Click the Header Settings Tab .

Click upload .

Select your logo image to upload.

Once uploaded click "Use this image" .

Make sure you’ve selected "Full image" for the image size.
Overlay Patterns
To set pattern for the background.
- Go to Qamar > Styling tab .
- Set Background Type as pattern .
- Set the background color .
- Select any of the patterns for the background image.
Setting Up a Background
- Login to Wordpress Admin
- Click Qamar Theme Options
- Click the Styling Tab .
- Set Background Type as Custom Background .
- Click upload .
- Select your Background image to upload.
- Once uploaded click "Use this image" .
- Make sure you’ve selected "Full image" for the image size.
- Set other options as you want .
- If you want to display the image as full background check 'Full Screen Background' .
Setting up the Portfolio
- Go to Pages --> Add New
- Type a title for the page .
- On the right-hand side, you will see the following panel titled Page Attributes with a drop-down under Template:
NOTE: If you do NOT see this panel, look to the top right of your screen for the words - Screen Options. Click that and enable the checkbox next to Page Attributes.
- Select "Portfolio" Page Template .

- From Qamar - Portfolio Options box you can setup the portfolio settings like Layout , Categories , Number of items per page and the categories filter option .

- Publish the Page.
To disaply categories filter below the header as the demo site just set Enable Ctaegories Filter option to YES.
Your portfolio page is now ready to showcase the portfolio items.
Adding Portfolio Items
To add a new portfolio item, navigate to Portfolios > Add New.
Here you can add the title of the project, a description in the main text editor, enter project details (client, Year , Skills , url), and assign various categories.
Set preview image
You have to set a "featured image" to each portfolio item that will be diplayed on the portfolio page. To do so, upload an image and set it as featured image.
Set the single page Header
Choose what is the sigle page header will display Featured Image , Featured Image with lightbox , Images Slideshow or a Video

Adding images in the Images Slideshow
Choose Images slideshow from page Header Displays list then press on "Add New Image" and upload your image or choose an image from media library and press on "use this image" button

Adding Video
Choose Video from page Header Displays list then add your video Embed Code , Youtube Video Url or Vimeo Video Url

Enter the project details
You can specify the client, Year , Skills and url of the project.

Adding Portfolio Categories
To categorise your portfolio items, you can assign categories to them within the Portfolio Categories Box. Assigning categories to the portfolio items will allow the users to filter your portfolio by categories. Also the categories will be displayed when hovering each portfolio item's thumbnail You can create new categories by navigating to Portfolio > Portfolio Categories or you can directly create them from the portfolio item page.

Setting up a Gallery page
This theme comes with a Gallery template that allows you to showcase your images or videos .
To set up a gallery, create a new page by navigating to Pages > Add New. Give it a title, select the "Gallery" template from the
Page Attributes section and click Publish.
Use " Qamar - Images Options " box to manage your gallery:
- Choose the Gallery layout .
- Upload your images by using the "Add New Item" Button.

If you want to open a Youtube or Vimeo video within the lightbox, specify the url in the "Video Link URL" custom input.

Full Width Page/Post
In post edit page , Select 'full Width' image from Sidebar Options As shown in below screenshot.
Shortcodes Gui
Shortcodes make it simple to insert elements like buttons, boxes, columns etc. without any knowledge how to code HTML. Shortcodes work in posts and pages .
Featured images for the posts
Theme cropped all uploaded images to fit its places in the theme .. if you have any problems with the size of old images which uploaded before install the theme you need to use Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin or AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild Plugin to regenerate thumbnails with suitable sizes .

Adding a Lightbox Content
- Go to Posts --> Add New
- On the "Visual" editor mode .. click on lighbox shortcode icon

- In the "Add Lighbox" window Add :
- Then click on "insert into post" button.
Adding a Lightbox Gallery
Important | WP 3.5.1 There are a bug in WordPress 3.5.1
so you need to go to text mode in the post editor and add link=”file” to the gallery short code to be like : [gallery ids="164,116" link="file"]
Using Page Templates
In most of our themes, we offer sever PAGE TEMPLATES. A Page Template is a template which comes with your theme. WordPress can be configured to use different Page Templates for different Pages. You can select which Template will be used when displaying a particular Page.
For Example : Authors , Timeline , Sitemap and Tags page templates
How To Use a Page Template
- Go to Pages --> Add New
- On the right-hand side, you will see the following panel titled Page Attributes with a drop-down under Template:
NOTE: If you do NOT see this panel, look to the top right of your screen for the words - Screen Options. Click that and enable the checkbox next to Page Attributes.
- Select the Page Template you desire.

- Publish the Page. That's it! Now that page will display the pre-defined content within that page template.
How and Where to Include Google Analytics Tracking Code?
- COPY the code given to you by Google Analytics
- Go to WordPress --> Theme Panel page --> General Settings --> look towards the bottom for Footer Code box:
- Paste your Google Analytics (or other) tracking code here. This code will automatically be inserted into the footer of your theme on every page.
- Click Save Changes. That's it!
How to chnage Author Avatar
The theme uses Gravatar to display users avatars . to craete or change your Gravatar :
If you have never setup a Gravatar account:
- Register / login to Gravatar. Upon registering, use the SAME email address that is associated with your WordPress User Profile.
- Upload your photo and associate it with that specific email address.
If you already registered at gravatar.com, follow these steps:
- Click on "My Gravatars" .
- click on "Add a New Email" .
- Then, you'll need to click on "Add a New Image" .
- Upload an image .
- Then select the email address, and then select your image from bottom. Now it's associated with that email address. Click Save .
- It will take about 5-10 minutes to propagate on the internet, and then will appear on site.
